SEAN SELBY - Artistic Director / Dance
Sean was born in Wolverhampton, and his performing career started an early age touring nationally for two years with Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber's National Youth Music Theatre in the production of Bugsy Malone , playing the roles of 'Fizzy' and 'Kneecaps'. The production lasted six weeks at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and 14 weeks in London's West End.
Sean's highlight was performing a solo at St James' Palace in front of Prince Edward and Sir Cameron Macintosh. Following this, Sean played the role of 'Sleigh-boy' in the touring production of Scrooge , The Musical, starring Anthony Newley, at Birmingham Alexandra Theatre.
Sean completed his BTEC National Diploma in Performing Arts, gaining a distinction, before continuing his training at the prestigious Northern School of Contemporary Dance where he gained a BPA (Hons) in Contemporary Dance and in 2005 toured nationally as part of Verve Dance Company.
Since completing his training Sean has worked as dance captain and lead dancer for three seasons with post modern African dance company Sakoba Dance Theatre, before making his West End Debut in 2007 in Fame, The Musical, as a member of the ensemble, and understudying the roles of 'Tyrone', 'Mr Myers' and 'Goody'. Following this Sean was asked to play the lead role 'Tyrone' for the European tour of Fame, The Musical ; touring to cities including Vienna, Copenhagen, Cologne, Prague and Hamburg. Sean also appeared in West End Live 2007 , and in summer 2008 Sean worked with Arlene Philips, as she created ideas for a new musical Sleeping Beauty. In 2008 Sean was asked to return to Fame, The Musical, for a UK tour which he has recently completed as a swing.
Sean has also worked as a backing dancer for various commercial artists including Sophie Ellis Bextor, Gina G, Lemar and Javine Hylton, as well as modelling for Debenhams, Dr Martins and UK Partnership fashion shows.
Sean's TV credits include; for ITV - X Factor 2008 Final (supporting Alexandra Burke and JLS) , Elton John's 2008 New Year 'Red Piano Concert' live from the O2 arena (supporting Will Young, Alexandra Burke and Sir Elton John), The Dame Edna Project and Jeremy Kyle , and for BBC1 - Blue Peter and Bright Sparks.
Most recently Sean has been working on the new Gulliver's Travels film starring Jack Black, Billy Connelly and Catherine Tate.
MATTHEW SLATER - Producer / Dance
Matt is originally from Bolton and began performing from an early age in amateur productions of Equs, Joesph, Summer Holiday and Fame . He studied Performing Arts and Theatre Studies A-Level where his passion for performance led him to pursue performing arts as a career.
He then went on to train at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance completing a BPA (Hons) in Contemporary Dance and touring nationally as part of Verve 05 .
In 2006 he joined the postgraduate dance company EDge and toured nationally and internationally to France, Sweden, Denmark and Portugal, in works by leading choreographers Siobhan Davies, Trisha Brown and Sue MacLennan, alongside completing his Postgraduate Diploma in Performance, passing with distinction, at London Contemporary Dance School.
Since then Matt has worked as a freelance dance artist and has completed several projects with English/Belgian dance company, Retina , under the artistic direction of choreographer Filip Van Huffel, including Page1 ; a graduate training programme and East Midlands tour in autumn 2006; Retina Springs ; the company's annual Easter School; Rauw 2008 , a site specific choreographic project in Antwerp, Belgium; This is not a body , a full length international touring production from spring 2007-08; Relative Danger , a UK touring production in autumn 2008; co-directing/choreographing for Retina Youth Dance Company and from March 2009 Matt took over in his new role of rehearsal director with the company's new international touring production, Antipode.
Matt also works as a dancer with Israeli born, award winning choreographer, Yael Flexer's London based Bedlam Dance Company , having completed research and development projects, two installation/film projects; Benchmark and Shrink'd, and their most recent touring production Doing, Done & Undone .
Matt also teaches freelance and has worked with companies including Artists in Schools, Ascendance Rep , and Dance4 . And in spring 2009 taught the auditions and helped select students for the new East Midlands CAT (centre for advanced training) in Nottingham.
ANASTACIA MORTON - Drama / Singing Coach
Anastasia is originally from Leeds, and began performing at an early age. From the age of two she trained at Cathy Carroll's Stage school and SLP (studio la pointe) in Leeds in Singing, Dancing, Drama and Musical Theatre. She performed in various Amateur Dramatic productions in her Childhood and won many Singing, dancing and drama competitions and festivals.
Musical Theatre has always been her passion and in 2005 she went to Leeds College of Music to study a BTEC National Diploma in Performing Arts (Musical Theatre) which she passed with Distinction. Anastasia is currently studying BA Hons in Drama at Huddersfield University and hopes to become a secondary school drama teacher.
Anastasia is still involved with amateur dramatics and her most recent theatre credits have been, Madame Thenardier in Les miserables and Evilene in the Wiz (both with Upstagers of Ilkley), Ariel the robot in Return to the Forbidden Planet (with Woodhouse of Huddersfield) and is currently rehearsing the part of Debs in Boogie Nights (with Huddersfield Amateur Operatic Society).
Her Television credits include Emmerdale for ITV, The Big Breakfast for Channel 4 and How do you solve a problem like Maria? for BBC 1.
